the slope of line L = (4+2)/(1+5) =1
so
the equation of line L is
y = x + 1
x -y +1 = 0

the slope of the line which passas through the points(1,4) and (-5,-2)
=(1-(-5))/(4-(-2))
=(1+5)/(4+2)
=6/6
=1

Because L is parallel to the line,so they have same slope,
The y-intercept of a stright line L is 1,so L pass through the point(0,1)

so,
the equation of L:
(y-1)/(x-0)=1
(y-1)/x=1
y-1=x
x-y+1=0
