There are many tenors in HIBOR e.g 1M, 3M, 6M...... and 2 prime rates: 7.5% and 7.25%.
Assume you will use 1-month HIBOR which is currently 2.905% and prime rate as 7.25%, hence, 1M HIBOR +4% = 6.905 while prime + 1.5% = 8.75%. You know that using HIBOR is more beneficial than using prime rate.
Another advantage is that in falling interest rate environment, HIBOR lower faster than prime becasue HIBOR is determined by market demand and supply everyday. But prime rate's is not.
