A pendulum is set to swing with an amplitude of 4cm and a period of 0.8s.
mass of pendulum bob is 0.5 kg.
take g=10ms-2.

1.) find the length of the pendulum
2.) the max speed of the bob
3.) tension in the string when the bob is at the lowest position

(1) With the relation of T = 2π√(l/g) for simple pendulum, we have:
0.8 = 2π√(l/10)
l/10 = (0.8/2π)2
= 0.0162
l = 0.162 m
(2) T = 0.8 s
ω = 2π/T
= 2.5π rad/s
By vmax = ωA,
vmax = 2.5π × 0.04
= 0.314 m/s
(3) Tension = mg + mv2/r
= 0.5 × (10 + 0.3142/0.162)
= 5.30 N
