well, a newborn needs a comfortable enviroment, suitable humidity, temperature, not too noisy and not too quiet~ some constant noise can give it security as it's noisy iniside mama's tummy. same logic, a bit movement can give nb babies the sense of comfort. I had read a book called "the happiest baby on the block", it teaches parents to treat fussy babies.. nb feels GOOD if you can hold it tight, little "shaking", white noise, a bit light too..

LOVE is another goodie babies need.. as much as possible! body touch can let them feel your love. try to talk to them with your soft voice, they can understand! Chinese say, dont hug too much when baby cry. I wont agree with that. My husband and I treat our baby as taught by the mentioned book, he is now 7 mth, seldom cry after 2 mth old. I think follow a mom's instinct, you know what's good for your baby!

- urine infections

Mothers who breastfeed have a lower rish of :
- ovarian cancer
- breast cancer
- hip fracture in later life, caused by the bone disease osteoporosis
