that's because cholophyll has color. thus, may affect the person to see the color change clearly. besides, by removing the cholophyll then put the decolorised leave on the white tile, it'll enable one to see the color change much more easily.

如果不先清除葉緑素, 加了碘液後的澱粉的顏色改變, 便會被葉緑素遮蓋而看不清楚.
