In my understanding, there is no difference between CPA Australia and CA Australia as long as you want to become profession either in public practice or in commercial. However, there are different requirements to join as member between these. The CPA program consists of 6 segments, whilst the CA program consists of 5 segments. The price of each segment for both is varied too. In Australia, as I reckon, most of public accountants have CA Australia whilst most of CPA Australia are working in commercial as CFO / top management of companies.
