OR What are the differences between a and b?
What is the difference between BETWEEN and AMONG?
BETWEEN is for TWO people or things.
e.g. Where is my house? It's between those (two) pine trees. (if you use BETWEEN, even if you do not say THOSE TWO PINE TREES, people will know you are talking about two trees here.)
e.g. I noticed something strange between John and Mary. Are they falling in love?
AMONG is for THREE OR MORE people or things.
e.g. Would you please distribute these ribbons among Lily, Mary and Jane?
e.g. Where is my house? It's among those pine trees. (= more than two trees here)
