以work為例,下列係12個時式既使用句型:
1.現在式: he works every day.
2.過去式: he worked yesterday.
3.將來式: he will work tomorrow.
4.現在進行式: he is working now.
5.過去進行式: he was working when i visited him.
6.未來進行式: he will be working if you go to visit him at ten.
7.現在完成式: he has worked at this factory for two years.
8.過去完成式: he had worked there for ten years before he came here to work.
9.未來完成式: he will have worked for two hours when you get up tomorrow morning.
10.現在完成進成式: he has been working here for three.
11.過去完成進行式: he had been working there when his son went abroad.
12.未來完成進行式: he will have been working for ten years when his son comes back.

以上5,6,8,9,10,11,12種時i1一定要有特定的時間副詞或子句陪襯,否則不能單一使用。

It rarely rains in the desert.
present continuos tense：
I am typing now.
present prefect tense：
She has picked a lot of apples.
present prefect continuos tense：
He is dirty.He has been playing football.

past tense：
I went to library yesterday.
past continuos tense：
He was walking whrn he slipped on a banana skin.
past prefect tense：
She had already sat down for dinner by 8 p.m.
past prefect continuos tense：
They had been skating together for five years.

future tense：
I think the sky will rain soon.
future continuos tense：
This time next week,I'll be skiing in Austria.
future prefect tense：
They will have fimished their meeting by four o'clock this afternoon.
future prefect continuos tense：
By the time Ben retires,he will have been working for the same company for thirty years.
