I am a man. And after reading your words, I think I will do the same thing.

I will use "your" wallet unless my current one is too old or "unusable" any more.
It's now the matter of if it's frm the gf or not, but men see not point to change the current one ,which is probably vy good he think. Unless the gf strongly request( until he knows that you care about that), No change will be done.

So the solution is easy. Let him know you mind that. Show him the message you want him to use the wallent you bought. Tell him that is not a tiny stuff in your mind. Or tell him you'll be sad or not happy about it, if he don t use the new one. If he really love you, he will make a little chnage. ( In fact it's so minor for men, unless the current one means something to him, I m sure he will change to avoid trouble...)

If u love him, don't leave.
BUT If he doesn't change for you even it's just a little thing, that means he doesn't love you at all, LEAVE~

係女仔都唔可以太霸道既..
咁怇又唔係唔用...怇或者真係覺得怇E+用緊果個ok呢..唔洗咁激動..

通常為左你份好意,多數都會好樂意即刻用..佢唔用既原因可以有好多,可能真係覺得而家用緊個個冇咩唔好,可能佢唔捨得用...etc..
但係多數人都會即刻換左佢啦,又有新野用,仲要係女朋友送的生日禮物,咁有意義,咩原因你就要自己問清楚佢喇
你直接同佢講,話份禮物你選左好耐,好有心去買,好想見到佢開開心心咁用,如果你咁樣同佢講,佢應該唔會唔用啦~
