in a basketball match, the Conqueror Team attempted 150 shots in the whole match, and the three players A,B.C made up 42%,20%,18% of the shots respectively. Their 'scoring rates' are 3/7,7/10 and 5/9 respectively. and the other players scored a total of 3 shots.

a, find the scoring rate of the other players scored a total of 3 shots
b. a shot is chosen at random from all the shots made by the team.find the probability of it scored

a)
Let the ans. be k,
150 x (1-42%-20%-18%) x k = 3
150 x 1/5 x k = 3
k = 1/10
therefore, the scoring rate of the other players scored a total of 3 shots = 1/10

b)
a shot is chosen at random from all the shots made by the team, the probability of it scored
= (42/100)x(3/7) + (20/100)x(7/10) + (18/100)x(5/9) + (20/100)x(1/10)
= 18/100 + 14/100 + 10/100 + 2/100
= 44/100
= 11/25
