D. nothing

The water level will not change.

The assumption is no air is trapped in the plate upside down, and the plate with the rock still float on water.

As the weight of the wooden plate with a rock is fixed, the weight of water displaced is equal to the weight of the wooden plate with a rock, the volume of water displaced is the same no matter how the wooden plate is positioned (normal or upside down).

I hope this can help your understanding. :)
