Question: Find the equation of tangent to the curve y = sin x at x = π. At x = π,
y = sin π = 0
So the tangent is at the point ( π , 0 ).
dy / dx = cos x
dy / dx ( x = π ) = cos π = -1
So the slope at ( π , 0 ) is -1.
Then the equation:
( y - 0 ) / ( x - π ) = -1
x + y - π = 0
