1.In the figure, the length of rectangle ABCD is (2x - 6) cm, the breadth is
二分之一x cm. Each side of square PQRS is 7 cm. If rectangle ABCD and
square PQRS have the same perimemtr, find the value of x.
2.Fiona bought x tarts, she ate 1∕4 of them, then her brother and sister
ate 7 tarts. If 2 tarts were left, find the value of x.

1. ((2x-6)+0.5x)2=7*4(2.5x-6)2=28
5x-12=28
5x=40
x=8
2. x-1/4x-7=2
3/4x=9
3x=36
x=12

1.8x=$12.6-$7.2

= (12.6-7.2) /1.8
= 5.4/1.8
= 3 (children)
