Good

adjective: better, best
解釋: a high quality or level:
She speaks very good French.

Exceptional

adjective: APPROVING
解釋: much greater than usual, especially in skill, intelligence, quality, etc:
例子: an exceptional student

通常係形容事物, 例如good at something.

Good refers to the fine quality
while exceptional emphasizes on the difference and distinction among other competitors.
But when it comes to results or grades for schoolwork it's more common to use ''good''.

Basically exceptional is more widely used when it's describing like sport performance or something more tangible than results.
