「Now these women are earning substantial salaries which help to supplement the income of their families.」

我想問...呢一句...
點解help to 後面用一個noun...?
點解有時help to後面又要跟to-inf. 有時後面就係noun...thx...

supplement, in this case, is a verb.

vt.
1. 增補,補充;為...補編附錄[(+with/by)]
She got a part-time job to supplement the family income.
她找了一個兼職工作以補充家庭收入。

It is because the first ' to' is used as 'prepositions',
whereas, help to do something = to + infinitive is another sentence construction
