pure alcohol can not kill bateria and virus effectively becauce the absence of water that cannot destroy the protein of bateria and virus. But here come with a question, why without water, the protein of bateria and virus cannot be destroy.

Pure alcohol vaporize almost immediately if you apply it on a surface. It takes 2 minutes' time for alcohol to attack bacteria and virus. But if the alcohol is vaporized immediately, before it does any work it is gone already.

it was because water is an compund,and also need to know what the water are?
is it pure water?or have another substance?You need to know the protein and virus is cant joined chemically its an a mixture,then how come without water can distory the
protein of bateria and virus.
i know one of that can destroy protein of bateria and virus,that is hydrocholic acid
i think you need to excess more and joined by water,then you must can destroy the
protein of bateria and virus.
