　　Jane Eyre’s parents have died and she now lives with the family of her uncle (her mother’s brother). Unfortunately, this uncle has died, too. Even though her aunt had promised her husband she would look after Jane, she now mistreats Jane regularly and finally decides to send her away to an institution for girls. Jane grows up at this institution. After graduating, Jane finds a job as a governess at Thornfield Hall. There she falls in love with the master, Mr. Rochester. However, her hardships are not yet over and quite a few shocks still lay ahead-shocks that test how strong her love really is. Jane Eyre has been abridged and simplified by Margery Green.
