how lysosomes process intracellular substances

Lysosome contains hydrolytic enzymes, fuse with worn-out organelles to release the enzymes for breaking down.Worn-out organelles are enclosed by membrane to form vacuoles. Digested materials will be recycled for resynthesis.

When there are worn-ot organelles, a membrane will be formed around the organelles and becomes a food vacuole. The lysosomes contain hydrolytic attach to the food vacole and release the hydrolytic enzymes into the vacuole. The hydrolytic enzymes then hydrolysized the materials inside.
