老師是對ㄉ.因為這題是用比較級來表示最高級所以必須

Maggic is taller than all the girls in class.

比較級形容詞+than+all the other+複數名詞
I'm sorry about it's just stupid American Grammer Rule.

他是三個人當中跑最快的
He is the fastest runner of the three.
He is the fastest runner of all.

第一個問題

我的看法是 "其它 " 就用 other 比較適合
all the girls 不就變成 "所有的女孩 " ㄇ?
"the" 的用法
1.指已提過的或已知所指的人, 物 或 事
例: A boy and a girl were sitting on the bench . The boy was smiling but the girl looked angry.
2.用於後接限定性短語的名詞
例: the topic of conversation, the houses that Jack built

就像 2號 , Maggic 是比其他的女孩高
但"其他的女孩"不是所有其他的女孩 , 是被 "班上" 兩個字限定
所以應該要加 " the "
所以應該是 " Maggic is taller than the other girls in class."


第二個問題

Marry looked happier when I told her this.
沒有 happilier 字,只有 happier, happiest , 你應該打錯了.
跟她講這個的時候。。。還沒講的時候跟講了的時候　拿來比較
所以要用 ...er form , 就是　happier

John looked sadly and he looked at me coldly when I walked in .
前面是動詞，所以後面應該是副詞
形容詞前面也要有 verb to be ( am, is , are, was, were )
所以不可能是 sad .

正解:

1. Maggie is taller than any other girl in the class.

= Maggie is taller than the other girls in the class.

因為限定在本班上的其他女生, 所以必須加 "the"

另外, "班上的..." 是 in the class, 不是 in class.

2. Jack is too short to play basketball.

He is the fastest among the three.

Mary looked "happy" ....

look 感官動詞 + 形容詞 ( 看起來...的樣子)

John looked sad and he looked at me coldly ...

第一個同上, 第二個是副詞修飾動詞 look at.

我覺得你們老師加all the 是為了強調在Maggic班上她是最高的,等於Maggic比"所有"Maggic班上的女生高

但其實我認為,句子應該寫成:

Maggic is taller than the other girls in class.

Jack is too short to play basketball.

He runs fastest of three.

Mary looked ___ when i told her this.
a. happy b. happilier

選 a → 意思為當我告訴Mary這件事時，她看起來很快樂

4.

John looked ___ and he looked at me ___ when i walked in
a. sadly;coldly b. sad;coldly

選 b → 解釋成 John看起來很難過，當我走進來時他冷冷地看著我

第一個問題:
Maggic 在班上高於其他女孩

我的翻譯:Maggic is taller than other girls in class.
老師的翻譯:Maggic is taller than all the girls in class.


回覆: a. 兩個句子的文法都正確.
b. 若忠於中文的原句. 你的翻譯還更貼近.
以語意來說 all the girls 包含 Maggic.
用other girls 是正確的
c. 若以句型的口語化來說, 我會選你的翻譯.
d. 但請尊重老師, 可能有前後文的問題, 才讓老師如此翻譯.

*中文句子若是最高級: (就沒問題了)
Maggic 是班上最高的女孩
Maggic is the tallest girl in the class.

第二個問題:

Jack 太矮無法打籃球
Jack is too short to play basketball.
* too .... to 太..... 而不....

他是三個人當中跑最快的
He is the fastest amoung three.

選擇: b. sad a. coldly

解釋一下:

look(感官動詞: 看起來) + 形容詞
look at ( 非及物動詞: 注視) + 副詞

look為連綴動詞後面叫加 adj ，答案是A

John looked ___ and he looked at me ___ when i walked in
a. sadly;coldly b. sad;coldly

第一個look為連綴動詞後面叫加 adj

第二個則為一般動詞 ，

是"強調冷漠地"看著我，所以用副詞來修飾動詞

所以答案是B

你的翻譯～中文的意思：她比班上另一個女生高！但他不是最高的！
老師的翻譯～中文的意思：才是指他是班上女生最高的！
你整句文法都ＯＫ！詞性也都分辨的清楚！唯獨就是一些詞不會使用！所以讓翻譯出了問題！但別擔心！你的英文能力還ＯＫ！
