When I asked the "rate" of passing, merit, and distinction in my question, I meant the "%" of candidates get P, M, and D. Is 131 easy to get? 'Cause I got 131 for the exam, and wanna know how other people did.

Hi all! I'd like to know about the rate of Pass, Merit, and Distinction in Grade 8 piano exam. Is 131 high or not that high actually?

There aren't any percentage in the piano exam.So your performance will not affected by 'curve'.
I am a person which get distinction in ABRSM for three times.(Grade4,6,8, which al one tick pass)
For me, I think it is easy to get distinction.
If you have no any serious mistakes, you will get it.
Thus I don't think distinction is a greatful marks.
I think the only way to identify a person which is get well in piano or not is:
More high grade.........

Merit = 120+
Distinction = 130+
131 => Distinction
Merit = 120+
Distinction = 130+
