a^2 - 6a + 2k = 0 ...(1)a^2 - 5a + k = 0 ...(2)
(1) - (2)
-a + k = 0
i.e. a = k
Put a = k into (1),
k^2 - 6k + 2k = 0
k^2 - 4k = 0
k(k - 4) = 0
k = 0 or 4
