To regard something as a free good, there are few criteria:
1) At price (P) = 0, the quantity demanded < quantity supplied.

2) It DOES NOT involve the use of scarce resources to produce.

To begin with, birthday is not a kind of goods.
Hence "birthday" cannot be sorted to any kind of "goods".

However, birthday gifts are economic goods
because it involves the use of scarce resources to produce,
such as paper and cotton.
(In the examination, it is better for you to give concrete examples as mentioned)
At zero price, the quantity demanded is also greater than
the quantity supplied
since you have unlimited wants on gifts and
you prefer having more than the quantity supplied.

Hence, birthday gifts are NOT free goods.

no. because you can&#39;t have birthday whenever you want to. it is just one particular day in a year. somebody may want everyday to be their birthday-----so sometimes, more is preferred to less.
