I wanna connect my laptop (toshiba satellite, bought it 2 years ago, sorry don't remember the model name) to my HDMI TV. I bought a DVI cable and connected it to my laptop. I tried all the setting but it didn't work. The pressed the PC menu on my TV after I connected my laptop to the TV but the menu went off in 3 sec then the screen turn into black.
Can anyone help me to figure out what's wrong and what I can do to really connect my laptop to the TV? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

First... make sure your DVI cable good for your notebook? You must be know that, if your notebook come out is VGA port, not DVI, but you use DVI cable to connect, even have connector to change VGA to DVI, it may still have problem, (anaglo to digital signal). And your TV have HDMI port, being DVI and HDMI have signal protection HDCP, you must sure your notebook output also have same function.

If everything is fine.. please check your TV manual and notebook manual, being the TV input signal also have limit, especial for PC, some of the TV only support the computer signal 800x600 or 1024x768, if your existing resolution is higher than support, the screen only can display few second and go out, before that, you can change the 2nd display output resolution on your notebook before send out the signal, but I think you set 640x480 is most safety can display on TV (of course that resolution display on TV is bad).

Good Luck!!
