why india has such a long history, a large population, a rich culture and a fertile land will lose to the USA? i bet in ancient time, there's hardly any place can compare to india given its population and natural resources, even in modern times, after india got modern technology, no one can rival it. until the USA.

AIDS, widespread poverty and gendercide (aborting female fetuses & messing up the gender balance in society) alone are 3 huge problems in India. India does have potential to be a superpower, but it's problems are immense, too.

Probably that the USA promotes the idea that all men are created equal and have a right to pursue happiness with no one standing in their way. India, on the other hand, believes that those at the bottom of the caste deserve no better and that's their lot in life. In essence, they have no way to improve their situation.
Have you ever read the book A Fine Balance by Rho Mystery? That book really opened my eyes to the culture of India and how hopeless a lot of the people are. I know it's fiction but if the people really think anything like the characters depicted in there, it's very sad, indeed.
