a question about the method of heat transfer

Melt three drops of wax on a metal spoon and then insert three small sticks on them. When the spoon is heated at one end, heat will transfer from one end to the other by conduction, after the temperature have risen to a certain degree, the wax melt and the small sticks may fall down due to loss of support.
The method of heat transfer is conduction.
