Explain it!

y = a(x - h)^2 + k
Is x = h?

If Yes, Assume h is 6, x is also 6. Then a(6-6)^2, this things would be 0.

Usually x and y are variables and a, h and k are constant.

In your case, y varies according to x^2,
Therefore, the formula could be plotted as a parabola with open downwards.

There is an instant that x = h
Then y = a(0)^2 + k = k
which is a special point of this parabola (h, k) which is the highest point of the parabola.
