The total distance between home and school= 30x60=1800 m
if he walked at a speed of 100m/min in the initial 1000m,
he has used 10 minutes only.
Then it has 800m left.
800/20=40m/min.
therefore, his walking speed for the remaining journey is 40m/min.

(30*60-1000)/(30-1000/100)
=(1800-1000)/(30-10)
=800/20
=40
so his walking speed for yhe remaining journey is 40m/min

I want to ask you are form?

journey/time=speed
60x30=900m
so the journey is 1800m

1000/t=100
t=10mins
he used 10mins to walk the initial 1000m

if he walking home is in 30mins..so he must use 20mins to walk 800m..
800/20=40m/min
the anwer is 40m/min
