Let 1's money as x and 2's money be yx + y = 40 --------------(1) [1同2合共有$40]
x = 4y --------------------(2) [1有ge係2有ge4倍]
(2) in (1)
4y + y = 40
5y = 40
y = 8
When y = 8
x = 4(8) by (2)
x = 32
so, "1" has $32 and "2" has $8
