When a piece of calcium oxide is placed in air for a long period of time, it becomes a powdery solid. Explain this pheonomenon with the help of word equation(s).

Calcium oxide react with carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to become calcium carbonate slowlyCaO + CO2 ---> CaCO3
The powdery solid is calcium carbonate CaCO3
