1.The general term of a sequence is n^2. Show that it is not a geometric sequence.

2.The general term of a sequence is 2n^2 + 3.Show that it is not an arithmetic sequence.

1. T(1) = 1^2 = 1
T(2) = 2^2 = 4
T(3) = 3^2 = 9
[T(2) / T(1)] is not equal to [T(3) / T(2)]
So it is not a geometric sequence

2. T(1) = 2(1^2) + 3 = 2 + 3 = 5
T(2) = 2(2^2) + 3 = 8 + 3 = 11
T(3) = 2(3^2) + 3 = 18+ 3 =21
[T(2) - T(1)] is not equal to [T(3) - T(2)]
So it is not an arithmetic sequence.
