What are the steps to take for starting an investment firm in Hong Kong? What should be paid attention to? One more question, what if the owner is not a HK citizen? Are there any differences?

You are talking to set up a personal investment consultant firm or a direct investment firm? There is no limitation for direct investment firm and all you need is "Funding" only.For investment consultant firm, you have to apply license and appoint CFA.
