首先你可以跟據說明書 在無接電腦下 自己列印測試頁 test print如果printer print到測試頁
咁樣就有以下可能性 如果printer print唔到 好大機會係壞機 or 冇墨
1. 可能USB PRINTER 線太長 令到信號變弱 所以printer 收唔到print野指令
2. 可能usp printer cable 損壞或斷線
3. 你可能有用 冇供電的usb hubs 同樣令信號變弱 冇反應
4 windows 裝了不正確driver 令printer 變成"?裝置" 可delete "?裝置" 重裝driver
5. 有可能printer usb 接收線路壞左 要送修
6. 可能係插usb插得唔好only
7.底版接printer 的usb壞了 換另一個看看

I agree with the answer upstairs.
If you did not drop your printer, HP printer is very durable, and should not have hardware just sitting on the table :)
now, I will try UNINSTALL THE PRINTER from Windows Device manager, and make sure the printer model # C3100 is matching the printer drivers provided with the disk, or you can download it again from HP web site.
Let windows search for the hardware again and find the printer C3100, and manually reinstall the driver by "provide a disk location/manually" ...
Now once the driver is reinstalled, reboot the computer again, and see if all the installation stay.
Now see if it can print, make sure it is set as default printer with a CHECK MARK(tick) ...
Now see if it print, if it does not still the same problem.
Like upstairs said, we need to check the USB cable connection, if all the USB cable is connected correctly, TRY to get another USB cable and switch it ...
and if it is the same problem even switching the cable, I suspect some other problem like IRQ conflicts or PCI bus conflicts from your COMPUTER BOX ...
Have you add new hardware to your machine recently ? Any recent changes ?

Those are important questions to ask yourself :)
If all fail ... try to bring the printer back to service, and ask them to prove the printer is working perfectly, to isolate the root of the problem :P
if they say printer is fine, then it must be your window box is messed up in hardware or Operating system issue. Those need some expert help that beyond the scope of this question.
