2x^2+x-6=4x^2+8x or 2x^2+x-6=-4x^2-8x
0=2x^2+7x+6 or 6x^2+9x-6=0
(2x+3)(x+2)=0 or 3(2x-1)(x+2)=0
x=-1.5 or x=-2 or x=0.5 or x=-2

So,combining two result,x=-1.5 or x=-2 or x=0.5

1.l2x^2 + x - 6l = l4x^2 + 8xl
2x^2 + x - 6=4x^2 + 8x or 2x^2 + x - 6=-4x^2 - 8x
2x^2+7x+6=0 6x^2+9x-6=0
(x+2)(2x+3)=0 2x^2+3x-2=0
x=-2 or -3/2 (2x-1)(x+2)=0
x=1/2 or -2
x=1/2,-3/2,-2

12x^2+x-16=14x^2+8x
(12x^2-14x^2)+(x-7x)-16=0
(-2x^2)+(-6x)-16=0
-2x^2-6x-16=0
