We can't say "I can do a perform."Why not?How would you say this correctly?

perform is a verb so it cannot be placed after another verb(do in this case)To make this sentence correct, you need to change perform to its noun form, which is performance

It's because perform is not a noun and do can't describe a perform .
You would say I can participate in a performance.
You would say I can participate in a performance.
