convulsion VS seizure

convulsion:
A violent involuntary contraction or series of contractions of the voluntary muscles

seizure:
A sudden attack or convulsion due to involuntary electrical activity in the brain. It is due to an uncontrolled burst of electrical activity in the brain that can result in a wide variety of clinical manifestations such as: muscle twitches, staring, tongue biting, urination, loss of consciousness and total body shaking.

即是說 convulsion 是肌肉抽筋, seizure 是因腦部有不正常傳電而引起的 convulsion 或其他不受控制的活動如雙眼發直, 咬舌, 小便失禁, 失去意識或全身顫抖等

癲癇是一組臨床綜合症
而抽搐只是一種症狀,並不是疾病

例如:
上呼吸道感染是一組臨床綜合症
而流涕,或打噴嚏只是一種症狀

convulsion(抽搐):
突然無意識,對外界刺激無反應、身體僵直、雙眼上吊、全身或四肢抖動不停失去控制甚至有臉色發紫、大小便失禁之情形稱為抽搐。

seizure(癲癇):
是一組臨床綜合症,其特徵是反複發作的腦部神經元的異常放電,導致短暫性腦功能失調,表現為運動,感覺,意識,植物神經等不同障碍及精神異常.是具有突然發生,反複發作特徵的慢性腦部疾病.患者可有一和/或多種發作形式.正常人由於感冒,發熱,電解質紊亂,酒精戒斷,睡眠不足等也可有單次發作,但不能診斷為癲癇.
