Weather & Climate

Climate is derived from long term average climatic record (the monthly temperature and precipitation regime). In most cases, 30-50 years of climatic records are calculated in average.
Weather is the short tem climatic situation, such as the daily range of temperature, length of insolation, air pressure, wind direction etc
Relationship with us
We are strongly affected by weather and climate:
- e.g. affect what we wear (different wearing in summer and winter)
- may cause serious natural hazards which affect us(e.g. typhoon, flooding, landslide etc)
- affect economic activities (e.g. school suspension during no.8 typhoon; smog may reduce investment from foreign countries)
- affect agricultural products supply (increasing price of vegetation after flooding, frost in winter)
- affect our health (e.g. acid rain, extreme hot or cold climate)
