occupation and job 有咩分別?

通常法律文件等等的比較嚴謹的document上，我們應該用occupation；而job則比較causal~ like 朋友間傾談，我們會傾向於講 [What is your job?]而唔會話 [What is your occupation?]；中文則為，[職業] & [工作]~ You work for your occupation. You might finish the job. 看到大家的分別嗎？

Occupation

n.
1. 工作,職業[C]
He is a bus driver by occupation.
他的職業是公車司機。
2. 消遣;日常事務[C][U]
He was bored for lack of occupation.
他因無所事事而感到厭煩。
3. 佔領,佔據;佔領時期[U]
The Japanese occupation of Taiwan lasted fifty-one years.
日本佔領臺灣達五十一年之久。
4. 佔用;居住;佔用(或居住)期
No one is yet in occupation of the house.
這所房子還沒有人住進去。


Job

1. 工作;職業
She has a job at a children's hospital.

"Occupation" 除了解作職業之外, 也是occupy的名詞.
"Job " 除了解作職業之外, 跟work或responsibility有點類似, 也可作動詞.
當"Occupation"跟"Job"同樣解作職業時,前者用法比較正規, 後者比較口語化.

在職業的範疇中，若果以中文解釋而言，occupation 解作「職業」，position 解作「職位」。occupation 及 position 都是名詞。position 亦會簡稱為 *post*

position(RANK) (noun)
a particular post in a job:
