What is HI?

HI is just like HCl
HI is hydrogen iodide
just like HCl is hydrogen chloride
I and Cl are of same group in periodic table
so iodine behaves similarly to chlorine
we also have HBr
I, Cl, Br are all of same group, Group VII

preparation of HI is similar to HCl, but replacing Cl by I

In Chemistry, HI is Hydrogen Iodide. It is a gas.
