The long march referred to the historical event of the retreatment of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from Cental Soviet area to Shanxi province. After the failure of the CCP's suppression of the fifth encirclement campaign of Kuomingtang (KMT), in the period of October 1934 and October 1936, Red Army from Cental Soviet area (First Front Red Army), Second Front Red Army (the combination of Second Red Army and Sixth Red Army) and Fourth Front Red Army started to retreat from the Cental Soviet Area to Shanxi Province. Since the distance was 25,000 miles, as a result, this expedition was called The Long March.
After the First World War (WW1), China, as one of the victorious allied countries, requested for the refusal of all privileges shared by the Powers in China at the Paris Peace Conference. China asked also for the abolishment of "Twenty-one Treaties" and regained the authorities in Shangdong province directly from the hand of defeated German. Unfortunately, Powers rejected since they intrigued among themselves for the greatest advantages. Having heard of this news, Chinese citizens felt extremely angry. At the afternoon on 4th May 1919, students from 13 Universities in Beijing demonstrated in Tiananmen Square to oppose Paris Peace Conference.
