Nintendo DS（任天堂DS，簡稱NDS），是日本任天堂公司開發的攜帶型掌上遊樂器，DS是Dual Screen（雙螢幕）的縮寫。主要的特徵包括了雙螢幕顯示，其中下方的螢幕為觸控式螢幕，並配備有麥克風（聲音輸入裝置）和 Wi-Fi 無線網路功能。北美地區在2004年11月21日發售，日本接著於2004年12月2日上市，歐洲則在2005年3月11日發售。
中國大陸地區由當地廠商神游科技使用「iQue DS（iDS）」的名稱推出，於2005年7月23日發售。定價為￥1518（包含GBA、NDS遊戲各一款）。iDS是唯一相容全球所有區域NDS遊戲的型號。
2006年3月21日在日本發售了名為NDS Lite的新機種，原本舊型的NDS將逐漸停止生產，由NDS Lite接替。澳洲於2006年6月1日 發售，美國地區於2006年6月11日發售，歐洲地區於2006年6月23日發售，台灣地區於2006年6月底發售，中國大陸地區尚未確定是否推出。
特長
雙螢幕
Nintendo DS有上下兩個包含背光的3英寸液晶螢幕，可顯示26萬色。以往許多遊戲中必須要透過畫面切換才能看到的訊息，現在可以方便地使用第二個屏幕來看到了。
觸控式螢幕
觸控式螢幕為Nintendo DS最大的特點之一。使用下方的觸控式螢幕和附帶的觸控筆，玩家可以靈活自如地控制遊戲進行。而且觸摸屏引入了許多以前通過按鍵不能實現的遊戲方式。
聲音識別
通過機身內的麥克風，玩家可以通過聲音來操縱遊戲。
網路通信

無線通信
NDS主機內建的無線通信功能，可以將多台NDS主機直接連線進行遊戲。分為「Wireless Play（無線通信遊玩）」和「Download Play（下載遊玩）」兩種方式。
「Wireless Play（無線通信遊玩）」需要準備與人數相同的NDS主機和遊戲軟體，最大人數無上限，依照遊戲軟體而有不同，例如「大合奏!バンドブラザーズ（大合奏）」遊戲可支援無上限的同時遊玩的人數。
「Download Play（下載遊玩）」只需要準備一份遊戲軟體，其他的NDS使用者就能夠從裝有遊戲軟的NDS主機上下載遊戲，並進行連線遊玩。
Game Boy Advance的遊戲軟體在NDS上也可以進行連線對戰。
雙卡帶插槽
機身上同時配備有Nintendo DS和Game Boy Advance的遊戲卡帶插槽。
