No sound in my newly installed desktop computer

I have just installed a desktop computer but used an old motherboard which had on-board sound device. However, when I finished the installation today, I found everything alright except no sound was heard. Afterwards, I checked that the installation of sound driver was completed. What is the problem?

Check with the device manager to see if there is any device with a yellow question mark. May be there is components of the sound card device not fully installed. Try to download the drivers of the sound card from the related vendor's website.Hope this could help you.
