「The boy was consumed with curiosity」點解要被動式同埋要加with?

雖然你見到 was consumed 有 was 及 -d 跟尾, 好像是被動式的動詞, 但其實在這句子中 , be consumed 是當作形容詞看待的 (如果是當動詞用的話, 之後才會跟 by someone)

即使在 yahoo 未典中, 你也可以找到 be consumed with 是形容詞的解釋:

a. (a.代表形容詞!)
1. 對(某種想法)著迷的;充滿(某種情感)的The man is consumed with the idea of going abroad.這人一心想著出國。

所以, 不應該一見有 be + 過去分詞, 便以為一定要跟 by 當被動式用, 要記住有些時候那些詞是形容詞的性質, 例子如下:

I am interested in pop music. (不是 by)
I hope that you are satisfied with my answer. (不是 by)

多謝你揀了我的答案. 不過似乎 用 with 或 by 都是一樣的, (字典並沒有這樣說) 與 抽像或實質 無關. 相信要多查幾本字典去了解以上說法是否正確了.

原文表達的是被動式的用詞格式consume(intransitive verb), 所以後加preposistion上去連接object

被好奇牽引著，所以習慣用被動語態
consume 此處有含不自主、極度、整個人被牽引著的意思

被動語態結構等同：He is interested by that comic book.
He finds that comic book interesting.
