Iron sheets can be tin-plated by electrolysis of tin compounds before they are used to make food cans.
In the above electolysis, what material should be used as the anode and explain why .

First, you must know how the electrolysis work.
The set-up of electrolysis is the anode connected to the negative polar of the battery,so the cathod is connected to the positive polar of the battery.
the electrons will pass through the anode to combine the positive ions.(eg.H+ + e- ---->H2)
In your case, the electrons will pass through the anode with iron sheets, the electrons will combine the positive ion (tin) to form Tin on the surface of the iron sheet.
In the cathod,tin will give out the electrons to be tin ion to complete the circuit.
