"National" vs "Citizen"

我想知道「national」同「citizen」既分別;我查過字典,「national」解「國民」,而「citizen」就係解「公民」。咁即係點~? 有咩分別~?

National 指你出生地方的國家, 即國籍 Nationality. 就算你離開左, 你依然有當地的公民權利. 政府仍然要對你提供保護.
Ref: NATIONAL designates one who may claim the protection of a state and applies especially to one living or traveling outside that state.

Citizen 指你只有當地的公民權利. 如果你離開左, 當地政府有權唔理你.
Ref: CITIZEN is preferred for one owing allegiance to a state in which sovereign power is retained by the people and sharing in the political rights of those people.

比如一個英國人, 住在香港經已7年, 夠資格成為香港的公民, 我地叫佢做公民(citizen). 但由於佢唔係中國人, 所以佢唔係中國的國民, 但佢係英國的國民 (national). 唔知咁樣係唔係!!!
