Let x be the number of hours Simon spends on studying normally.Then, John spends 3x hours on studing normally.
For this week,
3x+6 = 2(x+6)
3x+6 = 2x+12
x=6
Therefore, Simon spends 6 hours on studying normally and John spends 18 hours on studying normally.
So, This week, Simon spends 12 hours (6+6) and Simon spends 24 hours (18+6).
