Addign salt'll make ice melt faster. This is because, impurities will decrease the freezing point of ice. Hence, it'll form ice if the temperature falls below zero degree celcius. This is also the reason why people in cold countries sprinkle salt onto the road so as to prevent ice from forming on the road, making it unsafe to drive.
