英國 manchester 交流生的問題~

hey, it's so nice to see you are going to manchester. Im going to newcastle in this year. I did some preparation for myself, hopefully it can help you.

1. Manchester is the middle of the england. actually UK is colder than HK. I think the summer of UK is like the fall in HK. and between sept and oct, the weather is great, maybe you just want to take a jacket. during Christmas, snow is in there. haha, think about what kind of clothes you'd better bring. 2. nomally it's 20-23 kg limition for luggage. If you'll just stay for a semester, no need to bring too much. Yes! it's expensive in Manchester.
* Europe, maybe you can change some eur from HK. cuz france, germay, italy n' etc use europe.

3. If you like to take a trip from travel agency, maybe you can join bus tutor, it's cheaper. But I dont recommend it. I believe you can meet new frds from there, maybe you guyz can go together. secondly, its ok to go alone, esp. Germany. I love Germany, it's safe and beautiful country. esp. in the south of Germany. Fussen, rotherburg, heiderberg and etc. If you are not sure about planning the trip, you can send emails to me as you like.

4. I recommend you open an acc from HSBC from Hong Kong first. HSBC is a famous bank in UK. I can go to the headquarter (centre) to open a british pound acc. and ask any questions about that. Cuz it's inaccurate from other. My friend also told me some inaccurate information.

Don't worry. You are only short term. Just take some causal clothes and a jacket. That is fine. It is because man.u and man met. are in city centre and they are close china town. The main point is open a english pound student account in central main office from hsbc and ask them the branch is wing yip supermarket branch to collect the card and cheque book. Why use this branch? Because it is near china town and the teller is chinese, it is more better. some students collect in normal branch, the english teller always said not arrive yet or they don't know, it would spent you a lot of time. It is the save way.When you back to hk, you can celcel it. Buy some normal medicne for cold , flu, fever.If you wish to take the trip to euro, settle down first and then read the chinese free newspaper to find out which one is better and suitable for you. On the other hand, when you landing, go to carphonewarehouse shop get an international sim card and it cost £10 but this £10 you can use as normal fee. When you ring back to uk, ring landline and don't ring mobile. Land line cost you 6 pence or 7 pence but mobile is more expensive.
