I always swim even when I am having period as I always use a tampon. I suggest you use the following:

1. Tampax mini
2. Playtex mini

The applicator is very nice and smooth so it will not cause any pain during insertion.

I dont encourage ob because there is no applicator for insertion. You have to unwrap the tampon and physically insert it into your virgina. I dont like the idea of contact (because of germ or bateria infection even if I wash my fingers really clean). On top of that, you have to insert it quite deep otherwise after some time, it may slip out. This process of insertion does cause some pain at times.

If you are still a virgin, I suggest you stick with just mini and regular even though the hymen is quite flexible. Dont take the risk or chance.
