English writing with the topic " A Modern City " :
Hong Kong is a modern (現代化) city.
There are numerous (很多的) skyscrapers (摩天大廈) in the heart of the place such as Central District, Admiralty and Tsim Sha Tsui East.
Hongkongers, with wealth (財富) or those middle-class (中產) in particular (尤其), are stylish (時髦的). They pursue (追求) the high quality (優質) of living together with the famous international brand names (品牌) in fashion (時裝), watch, jewellery, interior design (室內設計) and car.
The metropolis (大都會) is busy day and night. Enterprises (企業) bustle with (忙碌) their business in million dollars while citizens (市民) transact (交易) the buying and selling of shares (股票). Even in the mid-night, local (本地的) people and tourists (遊客) seek for (尋找) entertainment (娛樂) in the pubs (酒吧), night markets (夜市) and night clubs (夜總會).
To say (可以說), the city never rests (休息). The neon lights (霓虹燈) brightly shine which is eminent for (知名的) the pearl of East.

A MODERN CITY

Modern,is a word to describe somthing which is new,better,including its look to its function,somehting which no one has ever seen before. As for a city,its refers to a city which has produce oustanding progress and findings including its physical appearences. For example,Hong Kong, as small as it might be,the energy and the progress which this amazing city make is breathtaking. The fact that hong kong people work their hearts out and can bring everyone a step further everyday. As for the physical side of this modern city,its buildings,from the skyscrapers to the ancient houses,it shows the revolution which this city has made.
Its technology, to have people find more and more ways to improve computers and other gadgets,its inspiring to see pupils age only about 16 to start inventing things never seen before,this shows how modernise even the brains of the next generation is going to be like.

Its idea,are always far and beyond what some other people even dare to dream about. These are examples of what makes this city modern,its always ahead of other countries,better than them,making more progress than them, THATS why the Hong Kong city deserves the title of a 'modern city'.

In conclusion,a modern city is a city which and leads the world in all prospect,physically and mentally. Also,everything about that city would be ahead of all other countries,more advance at what they do than any other country. If a city may live up to those standards,they may just deserve the title of a 'modern city'.
