There is a large box with length 13 cm, witdh 12 cm and height 5 cm. Solid cubes of side 2 cm are put in the box. How many cubes can be put into the box if you cannot break the cubes?

Number of cubes = 13*12*5/2*2*2=97.5
Hence, 97 cubes can be out into the box.

13/2 = 6.5 即係"length " 個邊最多只可以放6個cubes
12/2 = 6 即係"width " 個邊最多可以放6個cubes
即係話一層可以放 (6 * 6 ) = 36 個cubes
咁個large box可以放幾多層cubes呢？
5/2 = 2.5 即係large box的"height " 最多只可以放2層cubes
咁答案即係 (36 * 2 ) = 72 個cubes喇！

then the maximum no. of cubes can be placed along the length=12/2=6
then the maximum no. of cubes can be placed along the height=4/2=2
therefore 6x6x2=72cubes can be placed inside
